Sunraysia Institute of TAFE

Welcome to Sunraysia Institute of TAFE. Our Institute is a friendly place and we usually call ourselves SuniTAFE – it’s a little less formal. Recently we have introduced a new marketing campaign with the theme of a whole new world at SuniTAFE. This theme reflects our strategic drive to introduce new programs and delivery models to ensure that we remain relevant to the new and emerging industries in our region and beyond.

The major industries in the region are horticulture, health and welfare, retail, business, building and construction, and engineering. Growth industries are in mineral sands mining and renewable energy and SuniTAFE has preferred training status with companies in these sectors.  Mildura is a popular tourism destination and training for this sector is also important. Skills in design, multimedia and information technology are in demand in the business sector. 

We are one of five partner Institutes in the National Centre for Sustainability which began as a Victorian government initiative to promote sustainability in key areas of education – technology, building, renewable energy and conservation and land management.  Our education and training programs integrate sustainable concepts and practices and we are committed to introducing sustainable work practices across the Institute.

We welcome International students to our campuses in Mildura and Swan Hill. The two cities share many characteristics although they are 235 kilometres apart. Both cities are located on the picturesque Murray River and they have clear vivid blue skies and warm dry climates.

There are many advantages to studying in a regional city. They offer a safe, unpolluted environment where people are welcoming. Our Institute is also very welcoming and I look forward to seeing you at SuniTAFE in the future!
