English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)
SuniTAFE is a provider of English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).
Specialising in intermediate levels of English language study, staff can assist students to improve their English language skills and assist them to achieve the level of English they require for entry into studies with SuniTAFE, employment or other further study in Australia.
Intermediate English course
The Intermediate English course is designed to improve English fluency and language skills in a wide variety of situations. Students are expected to have a level of English equivalent to IELTS 5.0 when they begin this course.
While students are learning about Australian culture they will take part in exercises to further develop and improve their English language skills.
Exit level equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
Upper Intermediate English course
The Upper Intermediate English course develops student's reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for further study context with an emphasis on becoming independent users of English. It prepares students to enter courses at the Diploma and Bachelor Degree levels, and also Diploma and Certificate courses requiring a higher level of English language such as Nursing and Engineering. Students entering this course should have first completed the Intermediate English course, or otherwise have a level of English equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
Exit level equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
