Facility Hire

Auditorium and Meeting Rooms

SuniTAFE's Mildura Campus has an auditorium with stadium seating for 196 people. The campus also has three publically available meeting rooms, one that seats 20, and two that seat 12.

Equipment

The auditorium and meeting rooms contain (or can contain on request):

  • Multimedia projector
  • PC (with internet connection)
  • Microphones
  • Amplifier and speakers
  • DVD player
  • VCR
  • Overhead projector
  • Phonic Ear Easy Listener System (radio system for the hard of hearing)

The use of this equipment is included in the hire fees.

Please notify us what equipment you plan to use when booking. This includes any equipment you plan to bring and connect to our equipment. Technical staff are available during business hours to assist (and at other times by negotiation).

The building also has a range of other communication equipment available for use, including:

  • Photocopiers
  • Stationery
  • Fax machine
  • Internet capable computers
  • Landline telephones

Please tell us if you will need to use any of this when booking. Additional charges may apply.

Also, videoconferencing, printing and CD/DVD duplication services are available for additional charges.

Lock/unlock callout charge: $40 for each locking or unlocking of the building (required between 8 pm Friday and 8 am Monday, between 10 pm and 8 am Monday to Thursday, and at any time on a public holiday).

Videoconferencing

Videoconferencing can be a useful tool when conducting interviews, meetings, classes, group discussions, tribunals, court hearings and refugee hearings. It can provide two or more places with high quality vision and audio of people far away from them.

SuniTAFE has publicly available videoconferencing facilities in Mildura (Benetook Ave) and Swan Hill. The facilities have modern Tandberg ISDN equipment. This can dial at 128, 256 and 384 Kbit/s, and is capable of bridging. The system also includes a Polycom telephone, allowing several people to be involved via normal telephone.

Ancillary office equipment (including fax machines and photocopiers) is located nearby and can be used on request. This may incur additional charges. If you plan to use such equipment, please mention this when booking.

If you have any special confidentiality requirements, please mention these when booking.

Bookings must be made at least 2 weeks before the event, or at least 3 weeks before if an international site is involved.

In Mildura, the boardroom-style videoconferencing room seats a maximum of 24 people. Catering is available if requested at the time of booking. The incoming ISDN number is (03) 5023 4316 (+61 3 5023 4316 outside Australia).

The Swan Hill videoconferencing room seats 15 people. It's incoming ISDN number is (03) 5033 0762 (+61 3 5023 4316 outside Australia).

Charges

Charges are made up of a booking fee, room charges and line charges. They are the same for both the Mildura and Swan Hill facilities.

Booking fee

  • Booking fee: $55

This covers pre-conference test connections to the other sites and administrative tasks. It will not be refunded after the booking is confirmed.

Room charges

Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm (except Victorian public holidays and the Christmas-New Year period)

  • Per hour: $66.80

Other times

  • Charges available on request

Line charges

384 Kbit/s connections within Australia

  • Up to 745km (per hour): $57
  • Greater than 750km (per hour): $83

Line charges for other bitrates and for calling international locations are available on request.

The Hub

SuniTAFE’s Mildura Campus has a large indoor student common area called “The Hub.” It is available for hire, and is well suited for exhibitions, promotions and displays. Organisations hiring The Hub require public liability coverage of at least $20 million. Other conditions apply.

Charges

  • Per hour charge: $40
  • Booking fee: $50

There is also a security charge if the area is hired past 10 pm.

Other facilities

SuniTAFE is able to hire out other facilities on request. These include the Mildura Field Days site, and an assortment of rooms at our Swan Hill, Robinvale and Mallee Campuses. Please talk to us about your requirements.
