Overview

This course is intended for people who are seeking to work as a beauty therapists to provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including lash and brow treatments, nail services, make-up, massage and waxing. Students will communicate with clients to recommend treatments and services and sell retail skin care and cosmetic products. Students will undertake work independently, with limited guidance from others, to perform routine and non-routine activities and solve non-routine problems. They apply and adapt technical skills and knowledge and use judgment in the provision of beauty treatments and services.

Course Delivery

Classroom - Training will be delivered on site at SuniTAFE. Students must provide models for completing some practical assessments within the SuniTAFE Beauty Salon.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review to help confirm the course is suitable. Applicants must have access to a computer and the internet. Each applicant will be required to undertake a LLN test in a controlled environment on campus and an interview panel including a Beauty teacher before enrolling to help confirm if the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about skills, knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills, suitable oral communication skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and employment goals.
