Overview

This course is intended for people seeking to work in the early childhood education and care sector. It provides the skills and knowledge required to design and implement curriculum and care programs, in early childhood education and care services. It will supply all the necessary understanding of how to design these learning frameworks so that upon implementation, they meet the requirements of the education and care services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards. On completion of this course you will be capable of supervising other staff and volunteers and oversee the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children.

Course Delivery

Blended delivery: Monday - Thursday 9.30am-3.30pm Placements delivered over 2 x 4 week block Monday-Friday (7.5 hours per day). Flexible delivery: compulsory zoom/face to face sessions every fortnight 4.00-7.00pm, applicants will enrol in the next unit of competency as per flexible delivery schedule, placements will be scheduled on an ongoing basis as required.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed the Pre-requisite Qualification of CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care prior to enrolment. Each applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-training Review before enrolling to help confirm if the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about skills, knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and employment goals. Applicants must be able to provide a Working with Children Check prior to their placement that commences 10.7.23 Applicants must be at least 18 years old to enrol in the course (individual circumstances for students can be discussed and approved by Education Delivery Manager). Applicants must have access to internet and computers to complete online learning and submission of assessments. Immunisation requirements may apply for compulsory practical placements. Applicants must be available to attend 2 x 4 week placement blocks Monday- Friday 7.5 hours per day.
