VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) offers an educational experience that includes applied work skills and industry based learning as well as job relevant literacy and numeracy skills . VCAL, like VCE is an accredited Senior Secondary Certificate that is recognised internationally as a successful completion of secondary education.
VCAL is an accredited Senior Secondary Certificate and assists students to determine their careers. This could lead to employment as an Apprentice in the Electrotechnology or Automotive fields.
VCAL Senior will pathway into a number of VET Qualifications or further study. This qualification will equip you with the basic knowledge to proceed into further education in this area.
VCAL is offered at three levels (Foundation, Intermediate and Senior) every 12 months. The ACER assessment, interview and previous learning determines the level of VCAL suitable for the student. Students should progress through the levels and achieve a VCAL Senior certificate.
ach student will undertake a Pre-Training Review (ACER Assessment) before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals. Students are required to complete the ACER assessment at SuniTAFE under supervision plus an interview to gauge suitability for VCAL.
