Dennis Mitchell

Dennis Mitchell is Principal of Ranfurly Primary School and a proud Narrungga / Kaurna man who has spent a number of years working in and with Indigenous communities in Victoria and South Australia before becoming a teacher and Principal. 

Dennis is committed towards developing a high performing school community for all students through a culture of 'High Expectations'. He has led the transformation of two local primary schools into a forward thinking, academically successful learner environments.  Dennis has a focus on student agency, inclusive education and empowering learners within their school. 

Dennis’ work in the Sunraysia education community has seen him recognised by his local community in 2010 being awarded NAIDOC Koorie Person of the year, VAEAI's 'Wurreker Awards' for Leadership Development in the government employment setting and more recently La Trobe University ‘Adjunct Professor’.
Dennis is excited to join the SuniTAFE Board and hopes to help further the student experience within the institute.

Dennis was appointed to the SuniTAFE Board in October 2022.
