Overview

This course covers all the requirements for preparing materials to produce welds to code standards for (1796) 3-3E Low Hydrogen on plate using MMAW process. 4 Low hydrogen on pipe using MMAW process. 7 Pipe welding using GTAW process. 8G Plate and pipe welding using GMAW process. 8F Plate and Pipe welding using FCAW process. Depending on applicant's qualification the course may include some prerequisites, these prerequisites if required will be advised on application. On successful completion of selected units an WTIA exam can be set for Certification of AS1796 Welder Certification.

Pathways

Competencies completed in this course can be used as a pathway to MEM40105 Cert IV in Engineering and MEM50105 Diploma of Engineering - Advanced Trade.

Classroom based delivery.

Entry Requirements

You will need to provide your own safe footwear and appropriate clothing. All other personal protection equipment (PPE) is provided by SuniTAFE.
