This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as beauty therapists to provide a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage and treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services. This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommend beauty treatments and services, and sell retail skin-care and cosmetic products. These individuals work relatively autonomously, and are accountable for personal outputs. Their work involves the self-directed application of knowledge and skills with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques. Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and spas. Students will gain hands on experience in the Suni TAFE Beauty Salon. Students have the opportunity to interact with clients, perform salon services as well as experience what is required to run a successful salon

Entry into the Bachelor of Dermal Science or other industry associated Advanced Diploma's.
Students are expected to attend all classes for modules/competencies in which they are enrolled. Students must attend classes from 9am till 3pm Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, Thursdays. Salon days, Mondays and Thursdays will run from 9am till 4pm. Study will be required at home to ensure currency of theory/assessment work.
Students must hold a current completed Certificate III in Beauty Services to gain entry into course. Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals. Students MUST pass the required ACER results to gain acccess into the course. It is also expected that students have great communication skills, have the ability to understand and interpret information spoken in the English language.
