This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions and to achieve a degree of self-sufficiency as an advanced ICT user. Persons working at this level will support information technology activities in the workplace across a wide range of ICT areas, including technical support, network administration, web technologies, software applications and digital media technologies.
This qualification could lead to employment working in an office environment such as an office administrator or working within the ICT industry as a help desk assistant or ICT support officer. You will gain employable skills but you will also be equipped with the knowledge to proceed into further education in this area.
By completing this qualification you will gain employable skills as well as a pathway to further education in this area. You might like to think about extending your skill set and undertaking the Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking or the Diploma in Information Technology.
Classroom Delivery
Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
