This practical based course has been developed with industry outcomes in mind - giving you the best opportunity to succeed in the ever changing, innovative world of design. You will combine conceptual and creative skills with technical knowledge to generate visual communication solutions for a range of industry and community based design challenges along with exploring entrepreneurship. Students have opportunity to develop and expand their design practice and style, whilst exploring digital and print media. The creative design process is applied to typography, branding, illustration, 3D and digital design projects with assessments underpinned by the application of design theory and research.
Future career options include roles as designers/finished artists in the print and media industries or use your skills as an entrepreneur in the creative arts.
This full time course will be delivered in a classroom environment over 4 days and will include a practical placement in semester 2. This course is an approved VET FEE-HELP/VET Student Loan course. Interview and folio of work - showcasing multiple examples of graphic work that showcase the use of industry standard software. Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
