This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in agriculture. The qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production, cropping or livestock context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both cropping and livestock. Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under general supervision and exercise limited autonomy with some accountability for their own work.


Assistant animal attendant/stockperson, assistant farm or station hand, assistant farm or station worker, assistant farm or station labourer.

Course Delivery

This course will take 12 months part time or 6 months full time.

Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
