Do you enjoy working outdoors, have a passion for the environment? The Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management will prepare you with the technical skills and knowledge required to commence a career in Conservation and Land Management. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in plant and animal surveying and identification, revegetation, fence construction, remote area navigation, water sampling and monitoring, machinery operation and cultural heritage. You can expect a variety of field work and excursion opportunities as you learn within the diverse and unique Mallee environment.
This qualification may lead to career opportunities such as: Landcare Officer, Project Firefighter, Bushland Management Officer, Cultural Heritage Officer, National Parks Ranger, Ranger - Pest programs, land rehabilitation worker, revegetation worker, Indigenous lands worker, Pest animal worker.
Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management and Diploma of Conservation and Land Management.
This course will be delivered in the classroom or online with a series of one-day workshops over the year. Students will be expected to attend an organised camp to a Conservation Reserve for surveys on threatened species, cultural heritage and the impacts of vertebrate pest animals on ecosystems.
Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
