How to apply

Student Courses

Studying at SuniTAFE is an excellent pathway for people of all ages – from school leavers to those who have been in the workforce for some time and would like to gain a qualification, upgrade their current qualification or are seeking a career change. When choosing a course please take time to make sure you meet the required prerequisites and/or other selection criteria.

Direct entry

Students applying for places in full-time courses will need to complete an Application for Admission form and attend an interview with the relevant Educational Business Manager.

Approval of the enrolment may be given at the interview providing the Educational Business Manager is satisfied that the required pre-requisites have been met by the student. Alternatively, upon presentation of the required statements, reports or folios, students will be notified in writing whether their application has been successful.

Access & equity (special entry)

Sunraysia Institute of TAFE values the diversity of its client group and seeks to provide access and equity for all people undertaking vocational education and training.

If a student believes they do not fit the admission requirements for the course they are interested in, they may apply under the Special Entry provisions of the Institute.

Students wishing to continue studies are required to re-enrol. Please contact the relevant Educational Business Manager.

Credit transfer

Credit transfer is available to students who have existing identical qualification from the same or another course. This applies to students transferring to Sunraysia Institute of TAFE with a partially completed qualification, or where competencies / modules are identical for different courses. Students apply for direct credit using appropriate forms, if credit is granted they are exempt from that subject.

Payment by Instalment

Students can pay for a course by transferring money from their bank account to SuniTAFE’s account, using direct debit. If you wish to use this option, please bring an appropriate bank statement when visiting us to make a payment. You will then have the required details needed to make the transfer. If your account does not issue statements (or you can’t find one), please ask your bank to provide a card or another document with their logo, containing your BSB and account number.

This option is not available where VET FEE-HELP is available for fees (Diploma, Advanced Diploma and trial Certificate IV courses).   Please see our VET FEE-HELP page for further information.

Unique Student Identifier

For the first time, every student who undertakes nationally recognised training (except higher education) in Australia will be able to use a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to access their enrolment and achievement record from a single online source. Students often need to provide evidence of their academic achievements, for example when applying for a job or to undertake further study.

All students enrolling in, or continuing nationally recognised training in 2015 will need to apply for a USI. The enrolment staff at our campuses can help you with this, or you can complete the process at home before you enrol if you wish. If you complete it at home, please forward the resulting USI confirmation email to so we can easily enter the required information into our system.

Please visit for more information.
