How to Apply

Please refer to the specific entry requirements for the relevant SuniTAFE course.

  • Step 1: Choose your course 
  • Step 2: Make sure you meet the course’s entry requirements 
  • Step 3: Complete the Application for International Students and send through your supporting documentation 
  • Step 4: Accept your offer 
  • Step 5: Pay your deposit to receive your Confirmation of Enrolment
  • Step 6: Organise your student visa
  • Step 7: Fill out the International Student Arrival Services Forms

Required documentation 

Supporting documentation required with your application. We also require a Statement of Purpose. Attach the following documents to your application:

  • Certified copy of academic certificates and transcripts (translated into English).
  • Certified evidence of English language proficiency.
  • Certified copy of passport pages with your details.
  • Resume or CV (curriculum vitae).
  • Email your application or post your application form and supporting documents to SuniTAFE’s International Students Unit.

Processing 

The International Students Unit staff will assess your application and if your application is successful we will send you a Joint Letter of Offer for your nominated diploma (or advanced diploma) and the degree. The Joint Letter of Offer will also include a summary of fees which lists tuition fee payments and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Applicants who have not met English language requirements may be required to sit a Skype Interview and may be offered to study an English Course at SuniTAFE to obtain the required English level before commencing their academic course.

If your application is unsuccessful we will send you a letter outlining the reason or reasons you were unsuccessful.

Accepting Your Offer

To accept the offer, you must complete the Offer Acceptance forms and pay the fees and charges listed on the invoice. Details of how to pay are included with your offer.

When we receive your payment we will issue you with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). You use this document to apply to the Australian Diplomatic Service offshore or the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in Australia, for your student visa for the whole study duration.

Processing Times for Applications and Visas

The International Students Unit will endeavour to issue an offer to you, or a representative if you use their services, within one working week* of receipt of your application and all supporting documentation. Delays will be experienced if forms or documentation are incomplete. The processing of your student visa by Department of Home Affairs varies from country to country, so you should check with the local Australian Diplomatic Mission for advice on normal visa processing times.
*Please note: SuniTAFE is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Victorian public holidays.
 

Notification of Address

Under Australian Government student visa regulations, you must register your residential address and phone number with the International Students Unit at SuniTAFE within seven days of arriving in Australia. You must also notify SuniTAFE in writing on the approved form of any changes to your residential address, phone number or email address every time you make a change to any of these contact details. Should SuniTAFE have to issue you with a formal letter to attend an interview at Department of Home Affairs because of unsatisfactory attendance or academic performance, and your residential address registered with SuniTAFE is not current, Department of Home Affairs may automatically cancel your visa, which may result in your removal from Australia.

Notification of Change of Provider

You must notify SuniTAFE of your intention to move to another institution within seven days of issue of an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) by your new education provider.

University Pathways 

SuniTAFE’s diploma and advanced diploma graduates interested in higher education are able to apply to one of our university partners to pursue a degree and further their careers. Various levels of credits for SuniTAFE studies are available towards a degree, depending on the university articulation pathway in place. The level of credits available towards a degree program varies across each university.

On successful completion of a Diploma course, you may enter the second year of the Bachelor program through a packaged offer arrangement. To apply please start bow downloading and completing these forms

Fees

For future stages of your course, SuniTAFE reserves the right to adjust annual tuition fees to take into account increases in costs. SuniTAFE undertakes to keep any adjustment factor to a minimum.
