SuniTAFE's Automotive Workshop was the perfect backdrop for the inaugural SuniTAFE Trades Event last Thursday night. Students, family, friends, employers and industry came together to recognise and celebrate student achievements across a number of trades.
Boasting strong student numbers in pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship courses at both Mildura and Swan Hill campuses SuniTAFE introduced the Trades Event this year to highlight the ongoing success and partnerships with local industry and employers.
Due to the ongoing floods and road closures across the state, Swan Hill's upcoming event was cancelled and combined with Mildura. Awards were presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students in automotive, carpentry, electrical, engineering, plastering and plumbing.
The inaugural Max Hart Memorial Award was presented in honour of Max's 40 years of outstanding commitment in teaching light vehicle automotive at SuniTAFE.
Significant milestones achieved in 2022 in the SuniTAFE Trades include apprenticeship numbers of 500 plus in Mildura, the recent addition of electric vehicles and equipment and the belated celebration of 20 years of Heavy Automotive training delivery in Swan Hill reached in 2020.
SuniTAFE Board and staff are proud of all the award winners and grateful for the support of the award sponsors.
Award winners will go onto judging for Outstanding Apprentice at the SuniTAFE Graduation and Awards ceremonies in March next year.
