SuniTAFE is bridging the gap for school-leavers with a new 12 month program that combines Free TAFE certificate courses with accredited short courses, life skills and mentoring.
Staying in the local area to Bridge the Gap with SuniTAFE will give students a head-start during these unprecedented times.
Officially launched at SuniTAFE's Online Careers Week on August 24, this program is ideal for those just leaving high school and looking for a job, or wanting to stay close to home while taking a pathway into university. It will also provide career guidance and support to those who are uncertain about what they want to do next.
At a time when a traditional gap year isn't possible, SuniTAFE has developed this program that includes Free TAFE courses and can be accessed from its campuses in Mildura and Swan Hill.
"As Australia's number 1 large training provider we want to provide school leavers with a good gap year experience close to home, where students can gain a head-start towards further study or a career" said Geoff Dea, SuniTAFE's CEO.
"There has never been a year quite like this. School leavers might feel stuck and disconnected" said Mr Dea. "As the world changes, SuniTAFE is changing too, and our Bridge the Gap program has been developed as a way for students to explore their interests through hands-on learning. They will get expert mentoring throughout and connect with professionals to enhance the experience."
During the program students will gain certifications, develop a CV, learn employability and life skills. This well-rounded program will be enjoyable and provide a solid foundation for future success.
