The transport, logistics, automotive and manufacturing industries have a large projection of growth in the Mallee between now and 2022 (2017 Regional Skills Demand Profile, The Mallee, Victorian Skills Commissioner).  

You will train students in dedicated trade workshops and learning spaces fully equipped with the latest tools, technology, machinery and vehicles to enhance and support their time on campus.  Training and assessment may be also conducted on-site at workplaces.

Collaboration with industry partners is essential to access to some of the latest technology to teach into the future and industry leading equipment.  This includes: a test lane, wheel alignment, scanning tools, tyre changers, MIG and TIG welders, Computer Numerical Controlled machines including CNC lathes, CNC machines, CNC plasma cutting machine.

Industry Advisory Panels have been established for Transport and Logistics; Heavy Automotive; and Engineering.  Advisory Panels are critical in evaluating and enhancing the co-design of facilities, programs, courses and projects.

Under the direction of the Education Business Manager you will be required to contribute to planning, marketing, teaching and assessing qualifications.  Your training delivery plan will set out the topics you need to cover in classes and workshops.  

You will assist in developing and maintaining teaching and learning resources with the Education Development Services (EDS) Team and be responsible for looking after equipment used for training delivery such as tools used in the trade workshops.  

The EDS Team will also support teachers with an e-learning strategy, best practice tools, 2 year Professional Development Plan/schedule and online course repository.  EDS facilitates an Annual Teacher Conference to develop teacher capability and Professional Educators College Program (PEC) to up-skill teachers via professional development opportunities to maintain professional and vocational currency. 

You are encouraged to undertake professional development, network with the VET sector and local industry stakeholders such as businesses and employers, participate in committees and reference groups.  Industry Advisory Panels are critical in evaluating and enhancing programs and services.
