Reconciliation Action Plan
We are proud to present our first “Reflect” Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Reconciliation Action Plans are designed to enable organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.
A “Reflect” RAP is the first stage of the reconciliation process and is concerned with building strong foundations and increasing understanding of the importance of reconciliation.
Our RAP is a significant milestone for SuniTAFE in continuing genuine and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a demonstration of our organisational commitment to not only acknowledging the cultural richness and diversity of First Nations communities, but also creating lasting, meaningful change.
At SuniTAFE, our core values of Relationships, Integrity, Accountable, and Improvement guide us in this important work. Building strong and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is central to everything we do.

SuniTAFE is a prominent Vocational Education and Training (VET) provider located in the Mallee, with campuses in Mildura and Swan Hill, and a SMART Farm campus in Cardross, on the ancestral lands of the Latji Latji and Wamba-Wemba Peoples. We are dedicated to providing culturally appropriate support and services through our Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural centres - Dulka Yuppata at the Mildura campus and Telkaya at the Swan Hill campus.
We are committed to promoting employment opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. We actively engage in partnerships and activities with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, such as collaborations with the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc (VAEAI), Coomealla Health Aboriginal Corporation, and Mildura District Aboriginal Services (MDAS).

Simone Spencer | Art Competition Winner
I am a proud Barkindji woman with a great passion for culture, education and empowering Aboriginal young people to become the next generation of leaders.
I am a part of a very artistic family with my mother and father both actively creating art, mainly acrylic painting on various materials.
I have always loved drawing but have never explored any further. In the last few years, I have purchased a Samsung Android tablet and found myself exploring art apps.
Digital art really grew to be a passion and I have loved experimenting and exploring ever since.
The design elements are layers with different representations of the lands, the waterways and the people. Our ancestors and spirits that have guided us also.
In creating this piece, the Vision, Mission and Values of SuniTAFE were also embedded into the design.
The river is represented, as well as the Mildura and Swan Hill sites. Relationships, Integrity, Accountable and Improvement underline the overall vision of striving to be the leading regional training provider.
I would love to continue to share my art with people and tell stories through my artwork and creativity.
Dulka Yuppata (Place of Learning) - Mildura Campus
Located on the Mildura Campus, Dulka Yuppata, meaning “Place of Learning,” is the First Nation Cultural Centre that provides support and assistance to all First Nation learners enrolled at SuniTAFE, Mildura campus.
Telkaya (To Improve, To Be Peaceful, To Be Well) - Swan Hill Campus
Telkaya, located at our Swan Hill campus, means “to improve, to be peaceful, and to be well.” It offers cultural support and assistance to all First Nation learners enrolled at SuniTAFE, Swan Hill campus.
First Nation Student Support Services
Our First Nation Student Support services are available at both the Mildura and Swan Hill campuses. We assist students with all aspects of their studies and life challenges at SuniTAFE.
First Nation Liaison Officer
Our First Nation Liaison Officer works within local communities to raise awareness of SuniTAFE programs and courses.
Resources, Education & Training
Dulka Yuppata and Telkaya Cultural Support Centres offer a range of resources, including student wellbeing spaces, community meeting spaces, an art gallery, and a library of First Nation resources.
