Fees & Charges
The following course fees and charges information is applicable only to Domestic students. For information on fees and charges for International students, please see our International courses page. All students are assessed at the time of enrolment to determine whether they are eligible for Government subsidised training. Studying at SuniTAFE does incur a cost for the student and generally, course fees at SuniTAFE are made up of Tuition and Materials fees. Please contact our Customer Service Centre if you have any questions about our fees. All course fees (Tuition and Materials fees) must either be paid in full at the time of enrolment, or by committing to one of our alternative payment options.
The Victorian Government has announced an initiative designed to give improved access to students who are up-skilling, retraining or refreshing their qualifications at a TAFE institute. As a Victorian TAFE provider, SuniTAFE is able to offer Eligibility Exemptions to selected students commencing after 2018, regardless of previous qualifications. This offer is NOT available to private training providers. Speak to us now to see if you can take advantage of this funding rule change.
Under the Skills First initiative, students who wish to access Government subsidised fees must be assessed to determine their eligibility. To be eligible you must:
Be enrolling in a program that is higher than the Australian qualification that you currently hold;
Not undertake more than two Government subsidised programs in a calendar year; and
Not have commenced more than two programs at the same level in your lifetime.

If you are not eligible for Government subsidised fees, you may qualify for an eligibility exemption!
The Tuition Fee is for the training undertaken to complete your qualification. The fee amount varies according to the number of student contact hours in a course. For students assessed as eligible, Tuition Fees are subsidised by the Victorian Government.
When eligible for a government subsidised place, the government subsidises the course cost. The amount of the subsidy will depend on the course being enrolling into and the date the course commences. If you are not eligible for a subsidised place, you can still undertake a course, and your fees will be unsubsidised, or 'self-funded'.

Tuition Fee concessions may apply if a student holds one of the following concession cards or for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students:
Commonwealth Health Care Card
Pensioner Concession Card
Veterans’ Gold Card
The concessions provided for (1) and (2) also apply to the dependent spouse or dependent child of the card holder.
Concession fees are not available for students enrolling into Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses except where applicable for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Students claiming a concession must provide evidence they are eligible for the concession at the time of enrolment, otherwise full fees will be charged. Students are advised to contact Centrelink prior to enrolling to determine if they are eligible. The concession fee is calculated as 20% of the total tuition fee.

These fees allow you to get the resources you need to complete your course. These charges are set by each department at SuniTAFE, and vary from unit to unit. Further information about these fees can be viewed on each course page under Units and Assessment.
Enrolments cannot be finalised unless course fees have been paid in full or an approved commitment to the payment of fees has been received and the below provides details of the options available.
EFTPOS is available at the Mildura Campus or Swan Hill Campus Customer Service Centre for upfront payment of course fees.
Bank deposit is available for upfront payment of fees where applicants are unable to attend in person for upfront payment of course fees.
VET Student Loans are available for tuition fees only for eligible Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses within Course Cap amounts. There is no upfront fee for VET Student Loans. In instances where a course is not eligible or when the course cap has been exceeded a Payment Plan may be available. Materials fees cannot be deferred using VET Student Loans, although a payment plan may be available. Payment plans are available through the external provider Debitsuccess. Payment plans incur a non-refundable deposit of $15 plus 5.5% of the total fees owing on the payment plan. A default fee (dishonour fee) of $14.95 will be incurred for each failed scheduled debit and will be charged against your account for payment. You may be eligible for a payment plan if you meet the following criteria:
domestic student (not on a Student Visa)
do not have any fees overdue
do not have a history of irregular payments on previous payment plans with SuniTAFE
payable fees for enrolment are $250 or more
do not already have an existing payment plan with SuniTAFE not yet complete
Sponsor Payment are available where your employer or support agency has agreed to pay your enrolment fees. Payments for fees invoiced must be received within 30 days of invoice.
