Application Steps
Required documentation
Attach the following documents to your application:
Certified copy of academic certificates and transcripts (translated into English).
Certified evidence of English language proficiency.
Certified copy of passport pages with your details.
Statement of Prpose of study and why you are choosing SuniTAFE.
Resume or CV (curriculum vitae).
Email your application to SuniTAFE’s International Students Unit.

Processing
The International Students Unit staff will assess your application and if your application is successful we will send you a Letter of Offer for your nominated studies. The Letter of Offer will also include a summary of fees which lists tuition fee payments and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
If your application is unsuccessful we will advise you by email.
Assessment methods
As you progress through your TAFE qualification, SuniTAFE uses a range of methods to assess your skills and knowledge. These may include:
Written assessments can take several forms, including written questions, projects, case studies, questionnaires, assignments, written tasks and workbooks.
Short knowledge checks used to test your understanding of key concepts. These can include theory assessments, quizzes and exams.
Hands-on tasks where you demonstrate your skills and knowledge, such as preparing a dish or servicing a vehicle.
You are observed performing practical tasks to demonstrate your skills in a real or simulated workplace scenario.
A portfolio is a collection of evidence of your demonstrated skills. This could include samples, logbooks, observation checklists, third-party reports or work diaries.
You present information or answer questions verbally, either individually or within a group, such as when assessing speaking and communication skills in English language courses.
Feedback on your skills and performance provided from the people training or supervising you throughout your TAFE studies. This can include interviews with supervisors, reports or references from employers.
Accepting Your Offer

To accept the offer, you must complete the Offer Acceptance forms and pay the tuition deposit fees and OSHC charges listed in the Letter of Offer. Details of how to pay are included with your offer.
When we receive your payment we will issue you with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You use this document to apply to the Australian Diplomatic Service offshore or the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in Australia, for your student visa for the whole study duration.
Processing Times for Applications and Visas
The International Students Unit will endeavour to issue an offer to you, or a representative if you use their services, within one working week* of receipt of your application and all supporting documentation. Delays will be experienced if forms or documentation are incomplete. The processing of your student visa by Department of Home Affairs varies from country to country, so you should check with the local Australian Diplomatic Mission for advice on normal visa processing times.
*Please note: SuniTAFE is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Victorian public holidays.
Notification of Address
Under Australian Government student visa regulations, you must register your residential address and phone number with the International Students Unit at SuniTAFE within seven days of arriving in Australia. You must also notify SuniTAFE in writing on the approved form of any changes to your residential address, phone number or email address every time you make a change to any of these contact details. Should SuniTAFE have to issue you with a formal letter to attend an interview at Department of Home Affairs because of unsatisfactory attendance or academic performance, and your residential address registered with SuniTAFE is not current, Department of Home Affairs may automatically cancel your visa, which may result in your removal from Australia.
University Pathways
SuniTAFE’s diploma graduates interested in higher education are able to apply to one of our university partners to pursue a degree and further their careers. Various levels of credits for SuniTAFE studies are available towards a degree, depending on the university articulation pathway in place. The level of credits available towards a degree program varies across each university.

Fees
For future stages of your course, SuniTAFE reserves the right to adjust annual tuition fees to take into account increases in costs. SuniTAFE undertakes to keep any adjustment factor to a minimum.
