This course is intended for people seeking to work in the early childhood education and care sector. It provides the skills and knowledge required to design and implement curriculum and care programs in early childhood education and care services. Course Delivery

Classroom - Training will be delivered on site at SuniTAFE. Online - Training will be delivered online. Although online delivery is delivered out of the Mildura Campus, the course is also open to applicants from Swan Hill and surrounding districts. This course requires the completion of a minimum of 280 hours of mandatory work placement. Placement is arranged by SuniTAFE.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review to help confirm the course is suitable. Applicants must be willing to provide a Working with Children Check, a current clear Police Check prior to undertaking placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must provide evidence of completion of either CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Alternatively, applicants may provide evidence of an Australian Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an Australian Diploma or Certificate III in Children's Services supported by evidence of at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) in a regulated education and care service in Australia within the last 5 years or hold CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Applicants must have access to a computer and the internet to complete this course. Applicants will need to provide a letter from their employer stating that the applicant is employed with a regulated early years service and works a minimum of 15 hours per week as an early years educator and that the employer is able to release the applicant to engage in the online training sessions each fortnight and to meet one on one in the workplace or on campus to complete on the job competencies and support with learning content.
