The Certificate III in Horticulture provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to start your career in horticulture. The program is primarily delivered at the fully equipped SuniTAFE Training Farm and students are given hands on opportunities to experience and learn in a real farm environment. For trainees this course is designed to be delivered flexibly with predominantly workplace based projects to suit the needs of individuals and their work schedules in the horticultural industry. The Sunitafe farm provides exposure to some of the latest technology in horticulture and is a good adjunct to the workplace for practical experience.
This qualification could lead to employment as a horticulturalist in farming, gardening, nursery or any one of a number of varied roles within the industry.
This qualification can lead to further study in a Certificate IV level in Horticulture or other Horticulture industry specific qualification at Certificate IV level.
Full time classroom delivery (4 days per week) over 1 year. Trainee delivery - workplace and classroom based over 2 years.
Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. This will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
