The Diploma of Automotive Technology will provide advanced diagnostic skills for the growing high level of advanced technology found in today's vehicles and vehicles of the future. This qualification will further enhance the existing skills of experienced diagnostic technicians who perform repairs and diagnosis in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. Completion of this course will provide skills to analyse and evaluate faults and develop repair options with ideal repair methods to target the cause of the fault and related symptoms.
Employment roles linked to this qualification include workshop manager, workshop foreman, leading diagnostic technician, senior technician and advanced automotive electrical diagnostic technician.
Further training pathways from AUR50216: may lead to a relevant Advanced Diploma qualification or University studies in an Automotive discipline.
Students must be at least 18 years old when they commence studies.
Students are required to purchase work boots, preferably steel-capped boots, to wear during class. International students are highly recommended to obtain a driver licence in their home country before arriving in Australia.
