Nanjing Commercial College Visits SuniTAFE
Delegates from Nanjing Commercial College spent last week learning at SuniTAFE’s Mildura campus as part of an immersive study tour focused on cookery and teaching techniques.
The delegation, which included four teachers and eight students, travelled to Mildura as part of an MoU relationship established last year with the support of the Victorian Government’s Yes to International Students fund.
The students and teachers were welcomed to SuniTAFE on Monday morning with an official ceremony attended by Mildura Mayor Ali Cupper, SuniTAFE CEO Brett Millington, teachers, and staff.
Throughout the week, the students completed the Food Handler’s Short Course to gain an accredited unit, while their teachers undertook a micro-credential in Developing Self-Regulated Learners in teaching practice.
The visitors also took time to explore Mildura, visiting key sites including the Mildura Riverfront and the Visitor Information Centre.
SuniTAFE’s relationship with Nanjing Commercial College continues to grow, with 14 students from the college enrolling as international students since 2022.
SuniTAFE CEO Brett Millington was honoured to welcome the delegation to SuniTAFE, after travelling to China last year to sign a renewed Memorandum of Understanding with the College.
"It was wonderful to welcome a number of our partners from Nanjing Commercial College here to Australia after my visit to their Campus last September and celebrating the re-signing of our MoU in front of the Premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allan," he said.
"We discussed the differences between our vocational education and training provision, but also the strong affiliation we both have in committing to the success of our students.
"We look forward to the future activities across both countries that will only further strengthen those ties."
