Studying at SuniTAFE has opened doors for Nurul Zakaria, putting her on the right path for her dream career.
Nurul made the decision to move her life from Malaysia to Australia five years ago to seek new opportunities for herself and to achieve personal growth.
However, after missing out on jobs she interviewed for, she felt frustrated that her English skills may be holding her back.
She enrolled in Certificate II in Spoken and Written English (10728NAT) and, with the help of her teachers, she has not looked back since.
“My teacher Jamuna Jackson is so nice and helpful, my life has changed 360 degrees after meeting her,” she said.
“I love studying at SuniTAFE because of the facilities here, especially the Library, because they have a lot of books.
“I also love the support from my teacher and everyone else, like admin. They are all very friendly and very helpful.”
Nurul is now completing a certificate in Early Childhood Education while working at Mildura Central Early Learning Centre.
When she was applying for this position the SuniTAFE Skills and Jobs Centre helped to prepare Nurul for her interview by conducting mock job interviews with her.
Being able to practice her interviewing skills and receiving feedback helped Nurul to land the job that she loves.
“Every child is beautiful and I enjoy getting to know them and watching them learn and grow,” she said.
Nurul is looking to commence her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) soon and is excited to see where her career takes her next.
