SuniTAFE Apprentices Recognised on Victorian Stage

Two apprentices proudly represented SuniTAFE at last Friday’s Victorian Training Awards event, receiving recognition as award finalists.

The Victorian Training Awards is an annual gala that celebrates the very best in TAFE training across a wide variety of categories and includes awards for students, educators, training providers, and employers.

This is the first time that SuniTAFE has had two apprentices celebrated at the same event.

Georgia Baxter, a Swan Hill campus agricultural mechanical technology apprentice, was celebrated as a finalist for Apprentice of the Year, while Mildura carpentry apprentice Ethan Phillips was a finalist for School-based Apprentice of the Year.

SuniTAFE has a proud history of trades training, and to have two trades apprentices recognised by the Victorian TAFE network at the same event is a big honour.

General Manager - Education Delivery Wayne Ketchen celebrates Georgia and Ethan's hard work and dedication.

“SuniTAFE is immensely proud to have two outstanding finalists representing our Institute, their employers and the wider region on the Victorian stage," Wayne said.

"While Georgia and Ethan did not receive a formal award, being selected as finalists is a significant achievement in itself and reflects their talent, dedication, and the strong support of everyone involved in their apprenticeship journey.”
