Literacy and Numeracy Support Program at SuniTAFE

Do you sometimes find maths, reading, writing, or listening a challenge?

You’re not alone. Having gaps in your foundational skills should not be a barrier to achieving your potential, and with our new Literacy and Numeracy Support Program, it won’t be.

The Literacy and Numeracy (LN) Support Program is designed to help you with your reading, writing, numeracy, speaking, or digital skills. This extra help will be delivered while in class as part of your normal structured timetable to help support you to complete your course.

How does the LN Support Program work?

Students may be referred to the program upon enrolment or you can self-refer as needed during your study. Our LN Support teacher will arrange a time to meet with you and your TAFE teacher, introduce themselves and the LN Support Program and guide you through the enrolment process.

LN Support will be co-delivered as part of your normal structured timetable. Your teacher will work closely with your vocational teacher to ensure they understand the topic and the assessments. Students engaged with the LN Support Program can also access 1:1 teacher support outside of class if required.

Eligibility

The LN Support Program is free if you are currently enrolled in a Skills First Funded program. It does not impact future eligibility for any other Free TAFE course.

Enrolments in the LN Support Program under Skills First will not count towards a student’s commencement for the purpose of the two Victorian Government subsidised course commencements per year rule.

The LN Support Program is an initiative of the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry, and Regions. More information can also be found on the Victorian Government website.
