End of Year Art Exhibition

30 Nov 2023

The creativity of SuniTAFE’s art students will be on show tonight at the official opening of the 2023 End of year student exhibition.

The collection of work has been created from students studying a CUA20420 Certificate II in ATSICA, CUA30720 Certificate III in Design Fundamentals, CUA41320 Certificate IV in Visual Arts and CUA50720 Diploma of Graphic Design.

“The exhibition curation involved a selection of works from a variety of disciplines, including sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics along with digital works,” Creative Design Education Delivery Manager Sophie Cook said.

“The work reflects the development of the students own style and showcases the experimental nature of exploring mediums and techniques as part of the learning journey.”

Sophie said the exhibition is a flagship event in the Creative Design calendar and annually provides everyone a great opportunity to celebrate the year.

“It also allows for the students to showcase their work to a broader audience and understand the process of exhibiting as emerging artists and designers,” she said.

“Students are excited to share their work with their friends and family, and to celebrate with their peers.  They have done the hard work to get to this point and they will feel extremely proud when they see it displayed in a dedicated art space.

“The exhibition planning is part of a unit undertaken by the Certificate IV Visual Art student group, which involves selecting and preparing creative works for an exhibition.”

The exhibition opening is taking place tonight at Arts Mildura and will be open to the general public on Saturday December 2.
