This qualification is for working in the automotive service and repairs industry specialising in heavy commercial vehicles. The qualification is suitable for new employees or existing employees who are looking for skills recognition or development. On completion of this course you will be able to perform mechanical services and repairs to commercial heavy vehicles including testing and diagnosis of mechanical parts such as engines, brakes, transmission and suspension systems. You'll be able to apply your skills to a range of heavy vehicles from heavy rigid to heavy combination trucks capable of working as a heavy commercial vehicle technician or as a heavy vehicle mechanic.
This qualification prepares employees for the automotive service and repairs industry working specifically with heavy commercial vehicles in roles such as heavy commercial vehicle technicians or heavy vehicle mechanics.
Further training pathways from this course include Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling and Diploma of Automotive Technology.
Classroom - Training will be delivered on site at SuniTAFE.
Applicants are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review to help confirm the course is suitable. Applicants enrolling as an Apprentice/Trainee must have a registered training contract.
