This course is intended for people seeking to work in the early childhood education and care sector. It provides the skills and knowledge required to design and implement curriculum and care programs, in early childhood education and care services. It will supply all the necessary understanding of how to design these learning frameworks so that upon implementation, they meet the requirements of the education and care services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards. On completion of this course you will be capable of supervising other staff and volunteers and oversee the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children.

Students must be at least 18 years old when they commence studies.
A compulsory practical placement is required for successful completion of the course and a Working with Children Check is required before starting work placement. Students are required to purchase a uniform and may need to show evidence of up-to-date vaccination status for placement.

| Study Mode | Full-time, face to face learning. Classes are timetabled 4 days per week, and placements are full-time. |
| Work-based Training | Practical placements in an early childhood care centre totalling a minimum of 180 hours is required. Up to 20 additional placement hours are scheduled to ensure the student achieves the required competencies during placement. These placements are full-time, 5 days per week, over 6 weeks throughout the course and unpaid. |
