Mildura Mayor’s message to International Students

Welcome to our community. Whether a temporary or permanent resident of Mildura, I hope that you find your stay both rewarding and welcoming.

I am proud of our region’s cultural diversity, with over 20% of our population being born in another country. Our Council’s multicultural pride extends to the development and growth of three sister city relationships with other countries including Upland California, Dali China and Kumatori Japan.

Council’s sister city relationships are built upon trade, commerce and education and frequent recipriocal visits between these countries occur.

Our municipality has the largest land mass in the state with a total population of 53,878 (2016 census) and our largest employment industries are horticulture, retail, health and social care, agriculture, forestry and fishing, manufacturing, education and training and hospitality.

I am sure that as an international student, you will take advantage of what our region has to offer including the study options of horticulture, hospitality, accounting, automotive, leadership and management, graphic design, etc.
