Welcome to Australia and to the municipality of Mildura Rural City Council. Mildura is located in the north west of the state of Victoria and shares its borders with the states of South Australia and New South Wales. Council acknowledges that it is situated on and incorporates the traditional lands of the Latji Latji and Barkindji people who have been custodians of this land for thousands of years, and accordingly pays its respects to the traditional owners both past and present.
Many migrants have settled here in Mildura from a multitude of countries and we welcome all who come to live here either permanently or temporarily with enthusiasm and tolerance. Our Visitor Information Centre proudly displays the flags of the many different nationalities who reside within the region. Key Industries of the municipality include dry land farming, irrigated horticulture (table grapes, wine grapes, dried fruit, citrus and vegetables), tourism, food and beverage manufacturing, transport and logistics, retail, health and community services. The area is also embracing emerging industries such as renewable energy generation, aquaculture, mineral sands mining and recycling.
The beautiful Murray River winds its way through much of the municipality and is a focal point for visitors and locals who call the region home. With our hot dry summers and mild winters there is an abundance of recreational and
leisure pursuits on offer. Traditional hospitality and goodwill combined with our lifestyle and fine foods ensure your time spent within our region will be both enjoyable and memorable.
