This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and ceiling lining in the residential and commercial construction industry.
Completion of this course results in trade qualified roles as Wall and Ceiling Liner such as a fibrous plasterer. Plasterer (Solid) and Fibrous Plasterer (Commercial and Domestic).
Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
This qualification runs over four years, with learning and assessment undertaken onsite one day per fortnight. Or in a simulated work environment at the SuniTAFE Mildura or Swan Hill campus, if competency is unable to be achieved onsite.
Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals. Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement. Victoria: Must have a workplace/be employed as an Apprentice and a hold a training contract. NSW: Must have a workplace/be employed as an Apprentice and a NSW state training registration.
