Get a taste of SuniTAFE – enrol in our creative design short courses

SuniTAFE will be opening its doors on a Saturday over the next few months to host an array of creative design short courses.

Designed to be suitable for all levels of abilities, the short courses will give members of the Sunraysia community an opportunity to get a “taste” of SuniTAFE.

“Enrolling in a course at SuniTAFE can often be seen as daunting but we hope these short courses will remove any public misapprehensions and invite the broader community back into the SuniTAFE creative spaces to see what we have to share,” SuniTAFE Creative Design Teacher Prue Hobbs said.

“Prior to COVID-19 we offered a lot of short courses so it’s great to be back doing that again.”

The short courses that will be on offer include:

The Art of Dynamic Drawing, which will offer participants an opportunity to unlock their drawing potential and begin with basic 'free hand' expressive exercises. This workshop is designed to move through various subjects that evolve quickly and expressively.

Cyanotype (paper and fabric), will be an engaging hands-on experience designed to involve participants in the preparation and application of light sensitive chemicals to a selection of fabrics and papers. Exposure methods and further toning effects will also be explored.

“Taking part in a Creative Design short course and working alongside trained professionals in a non-formal setting will give participants an opportunity to engage in analogue experiences with bespoke skill sets that are in high demand,” Ms Hobbs said.

“We hope to showcase the SuniTAFE facilities and continue to build community engagement back onto our campus.”
