Mother’s Day at TAFE Kids

09 May 2024

Thursday, May 9 and Tuesday this week were exceptionally memorable afternoons at TAFE Kids.

Mothers and important people of the children who attend TAFE Kids were invited to spend the afternoon with their children, enjoying platters of food and taking part in a range of activities.

TAFE Kids Director Amie Johnson said the annual tradition made a triumphant return to the TAFE Kids calendar last year, after not hosting the event for several years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“It was a great afternoon, the event aims to build community spirit, encourage bonding and gives children a chance to be able to show different people in their lives what they do here,” she said.

“Our special visitors were able to take part in all different types of experiences based on the children's interests; including play dough, Legos, nail painting and drawing. All the activities were chosen based on the feedback we got when we asked the children what they like to do with their mums.

“Some of our staff members are parents here as well so we made sure they also got a chance to spend this extra special time with their children.”

TAFE Kids staff and children have been working hard over the past several weeks to make sure all loved ones were spoilt on Mother’s Day with children creating a range of crafts, that were gifted to each family throughout the week.
