At the SuniTAFE SMART Farm, we pride ourselves in utilising the most effective technology and equipment to increase farming capability and efficiency in the Sunraysia region, while preserving the environment for future generations.
To continue providing our farmers and students with access to the latest in SMART farming equipment, new innovative technology and machinery has been acquired:
We have purchased 2 petrol Kubota RTV-520 Side by Side vehicles.
These vehicles will assist in the following training packages:
Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation (AHC) qualifications – horticulture, agriculture, parks and gardens and nursery.
Short courses on how to operate side by side utility vehicles.
A liquid-cooled Kubota engine delivers more than 17 horsepower, while the Variable Hydro Transmission (VHT) provides single-pedal operation and hill-hold support to increase driver confidence no matter the terrain. The 200kg heavy-duty cargo bed with dump capabilities and a towing capacity of 530 kg make efficient work.
The acquisition includes a trailer for transporting the vehicles to different locations.
The John Deere 2 Series Compact Utility Tractor 2025R is fitted with a front load bucket which can be fitted with a bottom deck mower and will assist in the following training packages
● Agriculture, Horticulture, Conservation and Land (AHC) qualifications – horticulture, agriculture, parks and gardens and nursery (in particular, machinery modules)
Key features include: four-wheel drive (4WD), hydrostatic transmission with cruise control, power steering, and drive over mower deck compatibility.
With its big tractor features a 24 HP Yanmar diesel engine, cruise control, folding ROPS, drive-over mower decks and Quik-Park™ loaders. Plus, iMatch™ and AutoHitch™ compatibility.
The unit is designed to operate with the patented Satusteam™ technology.
Satusteam™ is a unique combination of boiling water and saturated steam at low pressure. When weeds are hit with Satusteam™, using a hand-held wand they are cooked instantly, leaving behind a chemical-free mulch for soil organisms to feed on. As a result, soil health improves over time.
