SuniTAFE Open Day Helps to Launch Futures in Swan Hill

18 Sep 2025

The Swan Hill community and local school groups had the opportunity to explore their future education options yesterday during SuniTAFE’s Open Day.

With a focus on how a SuniTAFE qualification can launch potential students into their future, the Swan Hill Open Day this year was focused on pathways and opportunities into dream careers.

With 81 out of the top 100 largest growing occupations in Victoria being attainable via a TAFE education, SuniTAFE is a perfect launchpad for local careers in vital industries.*

Dedicated educators in healthcare, community services, and trades were on deck to chat to those interested in getting started in their industries.

As part of the event, local vendors were invited to participate in an industry expo where they were able to speak to attendees about what might follow their course at SuniTAFE.

This included a range of our education partners, including La Trobe University, Country Universities Centre, and Murray Mallee LLEN, who offered advice on pathways into further study.

For Chief Executive Officer Brett Millington, Open Day is a chance to welcome the public to SuniTAFE and help them to understand what their next education steps might be.

“Our Open Day is a really great way to show the community the many education opportunities that they can access locally here in Swan Hill,” he said.

“We want to increase awareness of what we have on offer, and to help them see that we are here training within sectors that are in high demand, like healthcare or housing, which means that our graduates are highly employable.

“We hope that each of our attendees learned a little bit about what SuniTAFE can do for them and have been inspired to pursue further study in 2026.”

Anyone who missed out on the Swan Hill campus Open Day is encouraged to contact the SuniTAFE Skills and Jobs Centre for a chat about how SuniTAFE can help them launch into their future.
