TAFE Kids Kindergarten and Childcare Centre recently celebrated the opening of their renovated facilities, hosting a small celebration for the children, educators, and other SuniTAFE staff.
The upgrades include an enriched toddler courtyard, a large outdoor yard for children aged 2-6, a kindergarten learning space, bathrooms, and a welcoming reception.
The upgrades mean that TAFE Kids can now increase their capacity by 22 children, which will enable the team to better support the growing needs of the Mildura community.
TAFE Kids Assistant Director Jess Inwood Irrgang is excited to expand their services without compromising on their individualised and supportive education and care.
"Our recent revamp has enhanced key learning environments to better support play-based learning,” she said.
“Importantly, these changes have ensured we can continue to maintain our small class sizes, one of the key elements that makes TAFE Kids a standout service, while supporting strong learning outcomes.
“Feedback from families, children, and our educational team has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone has expressed how happy they are with the new spaces, especially the children.”
SuniTAFE CEO Brett Millington is proud to see the new spaces open to TAFE Kids’ young learners.
“TAFE Kids has held such a valuable space in SuniTAFE and the broader community for over 40 years,” he said.
“These works have added to the quality of the environment for our youngest students who continue to add so much to the vibrancy of our SuniTAFE environment.
“As we see today, there are many people studying at SuniTAFE who started their formative years at TAFE Kids, so it really is a circle of continuous learning.”
