SuniTAFE is seeking to employ a casual Community of Practice Manager to work in a job-sharing arrangement with our existing Community of Practice Manager Garinga Djimbayang.  This is a fixed term program until August 2026. 

This is an identified position, and applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander. 

The Community of Practice Manager will lead the Garinga Djimbayang Grant Program and will work extensively with Registered Training Organisations, TAFEs, RAPs and other program participants to establish and maintain a Communities of Practice.  This position coordinates consultation with industry, peak bodies, local and state government departments in relation to the project and is responsible for high level brokering and advocacy to ensure successful delivery outcomes.  

The Successful candidate will have existing connections and relationships with the local Korrie Community as well as knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal culture and society.

Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Engage with RAP’s and RTOs in high level brokerage and advocacy for the management of Community of practice with an emphasis on self-determination and a high level of ownership of the program by RAPs for culturally safe and effective development of accredited training activities. 
  • Maintain a calendar of key events related to the First Nations sector and agricultural sector to highlight where Garinga Djimbayang Grant Program process could be celebrated. 
  • Work within cross-functional teams of organisational partners to deliver critical projects coordination with a focus on quality and timelines of program deliverables. 
  • Pro-actively build and develop partnerships with key stakeholders, resolve queries and problems in a sensitive and timely manner 
  • The ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information, as well as the ability to use initiative to identify appropriate and relevant solutions to identified issues.  
  • Build and maintain positive ongoing internal and external stakeholders to ensure the objectives of the project are met. 
  • Act in accordance with SuniTAFE values – Relationships, Integrity, Accountable and Improvement. 
Key Selection Criteria 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or Management.
  • Successful experience in leading and collaborating with First Nations communities to achieve outcomes. 
  • Experience leading, coordinating and promoting programs and/or projects to meet the needs of the Korrie Community. 
The successful candidate will be required to provide: 
  • A successful criminal record check which is less than 6 months old 
  • A current working with children check 
This position is open to Australian residents only or those with current working rights in Australia.
