SuniTAFE SMART Farm

SuniTAFE’s SMART Farm is preparing the next generation of farm workers with the skills to transform the horticulture industry. Located on Dairtnunk Avenue, Cardross—9.2 km from the main campus (16.3 km from the Mildura CBD)—the 31.2 hectare site spans two land parcels and provides a real-world learning environment.

The facility includes classrooms, shedding, and glass and propagation houses, supporting hands-on training, trials and innovation. With a focus on automation, technology and data-driven practices, the SMART Farm is helping students and industry move beyond traditional methods into a more efficient, forward-looking model.

Through training, collaboration and industry engagement, it supports growers with practical solutions, networks and expertise—building a workforce ready to meet current demands and future challenges.

By strengthening skills in sustainability and resource management, the SMART Farm helps the sector produce more with less while supporting long-term productivity and environmental outcomes.
