Wear it Purple Day is about celebrating and supporting LGBTQI young people! #SuniTAFE students and staff can wear puple to show their support on August 25th.

An information stand will be located in the SuniTAFE Hub between 12 noon and 1.00pm with information on LGBTQI services at SuniTAFE and within the community.

Come along and guess how many Jelly Beans are in the jar!

#SuniTAFEs Youth Jobs PaTH participants commenced their program today at our Mildura campus. Pictured are the group participants and their teacher Amanda Smith. Welcome to you all - we hope you enjoy the program and gain important work ready skills and experience :-)

Youth Jobs PaTH is a flexible new approach to youth employment. It is designed to support young people to gain the skills and work experience they need to get and keep a job. 

It also supports employers to host internship placements and provides them with incentives when they take on a young person. Youth Jobs PaTH has three elements: Prepare - Trial - Hire.

Our unique VCAL courses offer a pathway from the world of school to the world of work. VCAL Foundation, VCAL Intermediate and VCAL Senior is equivalent to senior secondary years 10, 11 and 12.

The Gambetta Library is located at our #SuniTAFE Mildura Campus, in Building A on level 1, upstairs from the canteen and student hub area.

Regular opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00 am – 6 pm and Friday 8.00 am to 5 pm.  During term break, the hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00 am – 5 pm and Friday 8.00 am – 4 pm.  The Bookshop is also located in the Library.

From March to May and from August to October, the library is typically open from 1 – 5 pm on Sundays. The Bookshop and Printroom are not open on Sundays. Please contact us for Sunday opening details.

Yes - we do have student accommodation on campus at our #SuniTAFE Mildura campus.

The SuniTAFE Student Residences are situated at our Mildura Campus on Benetook Ave, providing convenient student accommodation. They are a 30 minute walk from the Mildura city centre and a 5 minute walk from a small shopping complex.

Accommodation is provided for up to 30 full-time residents studying at SuniTAFE or La Trobe University, Mildura Campus. There is also accommodation for short stays by SuniTAFE apprentices and trainees on block release, students studying at other educational institutions, and visiting student family members.

Computers & IT assistance – computers are available in the Library and Library staff can offer basic IT assistance. Further assistance is available via the IT Service department.
Course advice and enrolment help – please see the courses section of this website or contact Student Administration at any campus.
Evening security assistance – at the Mildura and Swan Hill campuses, security guards are available to provide assistance walking from classrooms to vehicles following evening and night classes. In Mildura, please ring Marshall Security Service on 5022 7855. In Swan Hill, please ring Swan Hill Security on 5032 3250. Please also ring these numbers if you see or hear any untoward activity at these campuses after business hours.
International student support – contact the International Students Unit or 5022 3703.
Koorie support – Indigenous Australians of any background can request assistance from the Dulka Yappata Koorie Cultural Centre.
Lost property – lost items can be lodged with and received from the Student Administration staff at each campus.
Migrant support – students who are new migrants to the country can get help with living and learning here from the Education Support unit.
Suggestions & feedback – drop a written suggestion in our suggestion boxes. The Mildura Campus has a box in The Hub. Swan Hill Campus suggestion boxes are located in Buildings A and B. Studying at Sunraysia Institute of TAFE (#SuniTAFE), provides you the opportunity to be eligible for the Institute’s #International students awards as well as other National and State awards.

Here is one of our graduates Lai Poh Lee’s story. Originally from Malaysia, Lai Poh Lee began her study in Diploma of Hospitality and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery with Sunraysia Institute of TAFE in 2013.

She won SuniTAFE’s award for the International Student of the Year for 2014, as well as being awarded a State finalist in the Victorian International Education Awards 2015, presented at Government House in Melbourne. Lai Poh also met the Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau and the Minister for Education and Skills, the honorary Steve Herbert.

Lai Poh Lee successfully completed her study in Advanced Diploma of hospitality Management in December 2015, and employed as a chef by a local restaurant of a club in Mildura, currently she is living and working in Mildura.

“I feel I am fortunate to be able to study at SuniTAFE. The teachers and staff are AMAZING! They are supportive, really care and are there to help you succeed. The facilities are great and well equipped. The multicultural environment makes study even more interesting.” “I would highly recommend SuniTAFE to anyone looking to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. It’s never too late to start, just get on and do it!”
