Virtual Graduation and Awards celebration for SuniTAFE

The achievements of SuniTAFE students, industry partners and staff for the 2020 academic year was celebrated last night. 

SuniTAFE Graduation and Awards is an important event on the calendar, and this year it was held virtually due to the current COVID-19 situation and restrictions. 
The event recognised the hard work and determination of students during a challenging 2020.  It also acknowledged employers, parents, friends and family who supported and contributed to the students individual outcomes.   
In 2020 across all SuniTAFE campuses 170 students completed their studies from 14 diploma and advanced diploma qualifications.  287 students from 26 traineeships and apprenticeships completed their studies.  35 student awards and 2 scholarships were also presented to deserving students.     
Tyler Ayars, Diploma of Nursing was the recipient of Student of the Year - Diploma and subsequently received the Board Excellence Award.  Tyler is a mature, caring and intuitive nursing student, who proactively involves patients in their care building trusting patient centred relationships. 
Employer of the Year was awarded to Mildura Truck Centre who have been utilising SuniTAFE for its apprentice training in Mildura and Swan Hill since 1992.  Mildura Truck Centre has supported SuniTAFE with industry knowledge and product where possible and from initial discussions about the establishment of heavy automotive training in Mildura, they worked together to obtain the training resources required to kick it off.
